Wind tunnel testing provides unique possibilities in the area of aerodynamic research, development and testing of UAS. It also constitutes a means for the validation of computational methods.

We offer

  • Measurement of aerodynamic characteristics of 2D airfoils
  • Measurement of aerodynamic characteristics of 3D models of unmanned and remotely piloted vehicles and their parts.
  • Measurement of thrust of power units and hinge moments of control surfaces
  • Measurement of aerodynamic characteristics of propellers
  • Measurement of aerodynamic characteristics of probes (total and static pressure probes, direction probes etc.)
  • Testing of withstand capability and stability of structures in strong wind

Measurement techniques

  • Measurements of forces and moments using multicomponent balances

  • Measurement of pressure distribution on the surface of tested objects

  • Flow visualization (Particle Image Velocimetry, minitufts, paints, smoke), including records using high-speed camera

  • Visualization of LBL/TBL transition using thermocamera

  • Measurement of flow field – Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV), hot wire (HWA)

  • Measurement of dynamic aerodynamic characteristics using oscillating model
