On December 21st, the LASARsat satellite was launched into orbit. Shortly afterward, we established communication. We are thrilled to have been partners in this mission.
LASARsat is a mission by Czech high school students from team Lasar. They won the prestigious Conrad Challenge in Houston last year and started to work on getting their satellite into orbit after that. The satellite was sent into orbit by a Falcon 9 rocket by SpaceX.
LASARsat will be using lasers to mitigate space debris by repairing nonfunctioning satellites or removing them from orbit.
