Project Title: More electric, advanced hydromechanics propeller control components (PROPCONEL)
Project Description:
The aim of the project is to design and test a new generation of propeller control system for turboprop engines of power category 1800 – 2000 shp for French company SAFRAN Helicopter Engines at the demonstrator level. The system contains speed control devices in positive or negative thrust modes and the overspeed protection device in transient or failure conditions. The main coordinator is Jihostroj a.s., a company based in Velesin, South Bohemia.
VZLU is responsible for elaborating reliability analyses for PDR and CDR (Preliminary and Critical Design Review). VZLU will also develop a mathematical model of the new propeller control system and verify the functionality of the system in a closed control loop with the propeller in the Matlab / Simulink environment. Furthermore VZLU ensures climatic and vibration tests to check the resistance of a newly designed system to external influences, incl. fireproof tests.
The PROPCONEL European project belongs to the joint technology initiative JTI Clean Sky 2.
