Project Title: Unsteady High-Lift Aerodynamics – Unsteady RANS Validation (UHURA)
Project Description:
The project focuses on the research of aerodynamic phenomena that occur during the deployment and retraction of the Krueger flaps. A closer understanding of these phenomena will allow for more accurate aerodynamic and structural design of the damper itself and its mechanism, including attachments. Non-stationary numerical simulations will be validated using wind tunnel data in which a series of Krueger damper measurements will be performed during its motion.
The Aerodynamics department at VZLU will perform non-stationary CFD simulations focused on the Krueger flap and the phenomena that occur during the deployment and retraction of the flap. Furthermore, the results of numerical simulations will be compared with experimental data.
The UHURA is a project of the European Horizon 2020 program.
