Measurement in low-velocity wind tunnels
Measurements in VZLU’s low-velocity wind tunnels provides unique opportunities in the area of aerodynamic research, development, and testing in many technical fields. It also serves for numeric methods validation, verification of characteristics of examined models, and for development of measurement techniques.
We offer
- Measurement of aerodynamic characteristics of 2D airfoils
- Measurement of aerodynamic characteristics of 3D models (models of aircrafts and their parts, etc.)
- Measurement of wind resistance
- Force measurement by means of internal and external multi-component strain-gauge balance
- Pressure distribution measurement on model surfaces with pressure probes
- Flow trajectory visualization and evaluation (PIV, helium bubbles, smoke, etc.), visual recordings with high-speed cameras
- Flow velocity measurement with hot wire anemometers, PIV
- Calibration and measurement of probes and their characteristics (static pressure and total pressure probes, directional probes, etc.)
- Stability tests of structures against the effects of wind and airflow
