VZLU will participate in three new ESA-led projects. In two of them, VZLU will act as the prime contractor, while in the remaining case VZLU, will be a subcontractor. All the projects concern satellite technology and their operation in orbit.
In the CS-ACS (Czech SmallSat Attitude Control System) programme, VZLU acts as the prime contractor in development of a new solution for controlling attitude of small satellites. CS-ACS allows to precisely control rotation of a satellite, which is necessary for Earth observation. Systems developed within the CS-ACS program are also some of the key components necessary for construction of small satellites within the VZLU SPACE 2030 programme.
VZLU will also take on the role of prime contractor in the CCD project (Czech CubeSat Deployer), which aims to develop a concept of new deployer to be installed on space launchers. Its purpose will be to ensure the deployment of CubeSats from launchers into a defined orbit. The deployer is using a modular concept and will be used to deploy CubeSats of various sizes. Within its development, innovative structural elements using advanced materials will be emphasised.
VZLU will also participate on Slavia mission (Space Laboratory for Advanced Variable Instruments and Applications) as a subcontractor. The mission was recently announced by SAB Aerospace, Czech Republic. As a subcontractor, VZLU will develop and construct the bus of the satellite, including electronics, a communication module, an on-board computer and data storage.
“The fact that we managed to receive the position of prime contractor in two projects and at the same time become a subcontractor on another very interesting project clearly shows that VZLU has built up a strong position within ESA and our capabilities are continuously growing.” Says Juraj Dudaš from the research institute.
As the number of space projects is continuously growing, it is also necessary to increase the number of specialists in the VZLU space team. Therefore, VZLU is announcing a call for the following positions:
SYSTEM ENGINEER – THE DEVELOPMENT OF ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS FOR SPACE
SENIOR SPACE MISSION SYSTEM ENGINEER
SYSTEMS ENGINEER – COMMUNICATION PARTS FOR THE SPACE MISSIONS
PROJECT MANAGER FOR SPACE PROJECTS
Positions can be held at workplaces in Prague or Brno
