The partial objective of the DKRVO concept for this area is: “Developing knowledge and creating tools and solutions in the field of multifunctional composite structures made by progressive technologies.”
Composite materials, structure and technologies are areas that have long and systematically devoted at VZLU for over 20 years. Unique properties of composite structures provide plenty of possibilities for their usage in the most demanding industrial applications. It is not just about replacing traditional structure materials, but also creating of new design solutions. VZLU strives to be a national source of specific know-how and a leader in practical applications of composite materials, structures and manufacture technologies. In the area of multifunctional composite structures, VZLU has set out the following objectives resulting in specific technical and industrial protected solutions. Considerable attention is paid to the composites produced by additive technologies and to the concept of Industry 4.0.
Partial objectives:
- Development of geopolymer multifunctional composite materials, processing technology and model solutions for their use in practice.
- Development of functional composite and hybrid structures made using additive technologies.
- Design of solution for manufacturing of composite structures in the Industry 4.0 concept.
- Development of structural elements of composite structures for use in a space environment.
